“Well…what can I say? Simply an outstanding job. Thank you SO MUCH for the fabulous cast, terrific direction, professionalism, thoroughness and all-‘round great work. Everyone on my end is delighted… Truly, I am grateful. Hope to see you again before too long.”
Lawrie Badger, Producer
(Production) Freelance

“I’ve never in my career seen such a positivity in a casting session. It’s f**king great to see, and I love them all for that.”
Jonas Åkerlund, Director
Mad Films

“Thank you so freaking much for a wicked cast. I love Jigsaw…I am screaming this from the highest mountain!”
Matt Eastman, Director
Sons & Daughters

“I would like to make a confession. Sometimes I will write, “… and Shasta at Jigsaw will do the casting …” in my treatment, to try to win the job.”
David Hicks, Director
Partners Film Co.

“Oh where do I begin? First and foremost: Shasta, Shasta, Shasta. She speaks the truth and gets the job done. She loves what she does and it shows… Every job is a success and “no or I cannot do it” is not an answer. Her staff is a direct reflection of her; they rock too. I just want to cast at Jigsaw.”
Shannon Barnes, Producer
(Production) Freelance

“I like the effort that is put into every job, and that it is demonstrated in the casting process with the actors…. I find Shasta’s contribution excellent and very helpful. My work reflects Shasta’s excellent work and invaluable contribution.”
Paul Cade, Director
Blink Pictures

“Shasta has made it her personal mission to try and surprise me, bringing in strong, appropriate actors who I have never seen in castings. She also maintains a nice balance between thinking for herself, while listening to my idiosyncratic requests…”
Tim Hamilton, Director
Avion Films

“Shasta always delivers. She is quite simply the best casting director I’ve ever had the good fortune of working with. Bar none.”
Glen Hunt, Creative Catalyst
Dentsu Canada

Of all the pages that make up Jigsaw Casting’s web site, this page is the most important to me.

I can only hope the sincerity of my love for all things casting, comes through. Conveying emotion in text is, for me, not an easy thing to do; I am not a writer. So with only the cold starkness of black and white words – words made colder still by this impersonal thing we call the World Wide Web – here I go.

As the founding owner of Jigsaw Casting, I have had many business proposals pitched to me over the years. And while always giving them real consideration, I inevitably end up at the same place: fearful of diluting the boutique flavour that, to my mind, is signature to the name Jigsaw Casting Ltd.

We’ve never been a “book n’ bank” company; I refuse the assembly-line approach I see others take. This is a craft profession so, for as much as I am a businesswoman with a company to administer, I am a casting director first. That’s just the way it is.

I’m proud of the fact that Jigsaw doesn’t just have repeat clients but rather very real, on-going professional relationships. In many cases, directors that had Jigsaw cast their very first project are still with us today.

Every day I get to work with remarkably talented actors, directors and producers; all the while, backed by the best staff imaginable. So how lucky am I? Pretty blessed, I’d say.

Enjoy our web site, and thanks for visiting,

Shasta
